About the Project
As part of its commitment to future generations and helping to secure a greener more prosperous future for our planet, the GFG Foundation has teamed up with UK-based creative education company, Rewise Learning, to create an innovative new learning programme focussing on motivation, environmental awareness, green and STEM skills.
The GFG Foundation Student programme is specially created educational project which is aligned to the National Open College Network (NOCN) unit framework and delivered by Rewise Learning who are an official exam board centre. Rewise have created the learning programme to cover the following essential themes:
-
Motivation – Exploring what it is that makes us do the things we do. What influences us to make good choices and sometimes bad one. Understanding one’s own personal motivation is key to understanding yourself and what drives you as a person.
-
Environmental Awareness – This topic explores the natural world around us, the impact of human behaviour on the environment and what we can do to help safeguard the planet for future generations. In this unit we look at how industry can help through initiatives such as Liberty’s ‘Green Steel’ production operation in Romania.
-
Green Skills & Careers – If we are going to help save the planet, today’s youth and our future generations will need the skills and knowledge to work in industries that help to protect the environment. Whether becoming and ecologist or training to become an engineer that builds wind or solar farms, green skills are key in filling these vital roles and creating newer, greener ways of working.
The first phase of the programme has already been rolled out in Galati Romania, the location of one of Liberty Steel’s major European steel and green steel production facilities. Future cohorts are already in the pipeline. If you want to get involved, contact us using the information below.
GFG Dual Learning Programme

The dual education programme at the “Paul Dimo” Vocational School in Galati, will see 20 students in the ninth grade combining a mixture of vocational and technical training, merging theoretical knowledge taught by teachers with practical activities carried out by LIBERTY Galati mentors.
Students will have the opportunity to work alongside experts from Liberty Galati to develop their technical skills. As well as embarking on fun activities to develop their life skills, such as teamwork, communication, and confidence building.
